although there was moonlight
the world was lonesome
sending no fresh feeling to you
the only cool air was from the momery:
in countryside
on the stone stage or porch
it was clear,refreshing and never lonely
just like fish and shrimp in water
just like noises under the moon
there were my young aunts, uncles and their wives
chlidren were enjoying themselves
chasing others shadow in the moonlight

although there was moonlight
the world would never change its lonesome
the dead would never return
the old kept getting older
although you could still feel the cool  
from the momery, the air now
had been faint and thin already
what was not worn out
after thirty years erosion?



即使有月光

即使有月光
人间也是寂寞的
也没法带来清凉
仅有的那点来自记忆
在乡村
在石头的台阶和门廊上
清凉而不寂寞
就像水里有鱼虾
月下有熙攘的人声
那是年轻轻的姨姨、舅舅和舅母们
而孩子们追逐着
月下的影子嬉戏

即使有月光
人间也没法不寂寞啊
死的死了、老的老了
即使还能感觉到记忆里的清凉
也已经很微弱了
有什么是经过三十年时间的淘洗
而不磨破的呢？

surrounding the house
wild grass tall to knees
the pool in front of the door
was floated with duckweeds
so crazy and hostile

i was amazed at this bleak scene
just like in hollow dreams

when Spring came
the wind, from dawn to dark
pruned everything alive
when Winter came
the flowing water
cleaned each stone
which ever rolled down
into the stream

the host had gone to a distant place
remaining the house almost deserted
but the fact was that
he just wanted to get back someday
and settle dowm with final peace
after undergoing all kind of hardship
for many, many years

房子四周
荒草没膝
门前的水潭
飘满水浮莲
疯狂、敌意

我为这荒芜心惊
仿佛置身于空空的梦境

春天，他一天到晚
修啊剪啊
冬天，又把滚落水中的石头
一块块清理

主人去了远方
似乎要把房子遗弃
事实是，他操劳着
只为了回来
安心地居住
